Can I control the metrics generated by FontStruct?

Not yet. Letters in FontStructions are automatically spaced using a single grid square gap. We hope to add some basic manual control over letter spacing soon.

Until then, you can control letter spacing and kerning using the controls available in most graphics software, or edit your font metrics in other font development software.

Note that by placing bricks to the left of the “LEFT” guideline you can make letters appear join up and overlap in the website previews. This does not however have any effect on the downloaded TrueType file.
