Description:
Having previously played around in Fontstruct with Anni Albers' textile patterns, I thought it time to turn my attention to her husband Josef's work. Josef Albers' constructivist typographic experiments are a perfect match for Fontstruct. Other Fontstructors have done great work with Alber's ideas. Most notably, Saberrider's fontsract and Stewf's Leaflet family. Using Josef Albers' Kombinationsschrift alphabet (1928-1931) as my foundation, I've been having a lot of fun remixing and experimenting with his letters. 'Sessions' is the first to get shared. Hopefully, more to come.

@geneus1: My studio is currently filled with every Josef and Anni Albers book I could get from the Multnomah County Library. The 'Interaction of Color' series is fantastic. I'm also really enjoying 'Annie Albers: Selected Writings on Design'.

@stewf: a 'solid 8' has a nice ring to it. And while Sessions is not technically a clone of Leaflet, it's certainly a second cousin once removed (see you at the family reunion).

@axel_leyer: after seeing the results of the color separation, I thought it would be fun to do each of the individual parts as vinyl stickers that you could mix and match to create physical Fontstruct 'clones'.

Brilliant. Some of the characters are too mindblowing for words. s, z, u, 2, 7, 9, 5, heck, all of them.

The i dot trapped between itself and the r is further brilliance. gropius, indeed.

Thanks, Funk King. That big bump in downloads in the last 24-hours is due, no doubt, to 'Sessions' being featured on ilovetypography's 'The Week In Type'.

@rom: Glad you like it. I can't seem to replicate your problem. I just downloaded it again without incident. Try contacting the Fontstruct support staff.

that happens to me sometimes as well.
I've seen me downloading a font and it fails, another day the same font works. strange.
try emptying your cache or restarting your pc...

I love it! I didn't quite understand that is this TOTALLY FREE, even for commercial purposes? (like CD-cover etc..) I don't quite get what does that Share alike -licence mean? (I'm so sorry being this stupid but I really appreciate your answer :--D)

such a great font - but for some reason I can't select it in Illustrator.. Anyone else having problems with this font? Or worked out how to fix / use it?

@shanDB: I'm not sure I follow. I just re-downloaded the font and opened in Illustrator and I don't have any problem using the font. Can you be more detailed about what you're trying to accomplish? Glad you like it.
