I have something unreleased that is very similar. I thought you discovered the same method I used to make the lines intersect with the circles, but your lines stop at a tangent to the circles and the scaling and anti-aliasing of the preview make it look like they're connected. That's fine if that is how you intended it to be, but if you wanted the lines to merge with the circles there's an easy modification you can make in the Advanced menu...
