Damn! I thought four-times-upscaled from the drawing would be enough. I should have known better.

Yesterday I decided to skip this fontstruction, for I don't comment on something I don't sufficiently understand. At first sight some of these letters looked a bit awkward, especially when viewed one by one. Yet, in the text sample they worked in concert and showed beautiful rhythm and harmony. Today, I've spent some time with Mixter and here is what I've found: there is plenty of detail to love in this font. I very much like the lc a,e,k,s, and the UC B,D,E,K,R. I'm less sure about the A,M,V,W. They are fine shapes, but may not blend with the rest. One opinion is no opinion. It is better to wait what others might say about it.
It earns 10/10, nonetheless.

I like the b, g, k, and s.

Maybe the bottom curve of the S should match the top curve? So it has the symmetry of the s.

Congratulations! FontStruct Staff have deemed your FontStruction worthy of special mention. “Mixter” is now a Top Pick.

I'm obsessed with getting diagonals into my Fontstructions, hence the interesting M,W, etc... I guess I keep worrying at it because it's very hard to do convincingly!

I find the use of octagonal principles to suggest curves endlessly interesting. The trouble with it: unless you stick rigidly to 45deg angles, the results can make for a less than appealing display. Video (as opposed to print) tends to create an ugly thickening, which is also interesting.

Thanks, Gustavo, by the way for the top pick. Next time I have a go at this sort of thing I'll use a bigger scale to cheat on the character widths and spacing.
