The Wi'gls came about when I was stumped on the "M". I think the Wi'gl adds a unique visual theme to the font. Please provide feedback - both positive and negative. This version does away with as much unsightly negative space as possible, leaving just a thick, bold, heavy, almost completely filled block of text...yet maintain legibility. I am all for negative space, but this font, apparently, isn't. Can't fight the glyph--like lemmings on the go--you just have to provide a way to get them where ever they are headed. It's given me the flexibility, with a little cheating here and there, to strike a fairly convincing bold version that manages to hold the look of the original despite having a weight of 4h x 3v bricks instead of 2h x 1 1/2v. Not quite pound-for-pound. I cheated by raising the whole thing one brick height as well. I've done quite enough "grasping at straws" fonts for the time being so here's one where I've curbed my instinct to intagliate my favourite glyphs. I'm trying to incorporate all the things I fancy in this sort of font without violating where FontStruct is willing to go. This is where most of my fonts fall down (and probably this one, too). Eventually I'll pare away all my affectations and I'll end up with a font that looks like... Helvetica.
