Following my ‘ornate’ theme I also wanted to keep each letter very attractive making each letter look like an ornament but also if used a full body text still holds this ornamental theme.The%20typeface%20was%20created%20with%20influence%20from%20fonts%20used%20on%20circus%20posters%2C%20I%20wanted%20it%20to%20come%20across%20as%20quite%20flamboyant%20with%20a%20sleek%2C%20more%20modern%20undertone%20which%20I%20think%20I%20have%20achieved%20with%20the%20thin%20vertical%20lines.%20Following%20my%20%E2%80%98ornate%E2%80%99%20theme%20I%20also%20wanted%20to%20keep%20each%20letter%20very%20attractive%20making%20each%20letter%20look%20like%20an%20ornament%20but%20also%20if%20used%20a%20full%20body%20text%20still%20holds%20this%20ornamental%20theme.

I created this inspired by influences from Ralph steadman and Jackson pollock using the concept of inconsistansy and randomized mark making with ink. the name is derived from a quote from the book "fear and loathing in las vagas". I designed it by firstly creating the text with a pot of ink and the back side of a biro pen, then from that i drew them by hand onto A4 sheets of graph paper limitating each line to only 4 given angles, then finally transfering that onto fontstruct wich took roughly 30-40mins per letter. The typeface draws inspiration from the long tradition of German Fraktur styled blackletters. The name Hunstrück is taken from a mountain range in Germany called the Hunsrück. Primarily I was aiming to build a face that would work well as a display type for gig posters and larger headlines but as I reworked the typeface I tried to strike a balance between text and display. Big thanks goes to djnippa for his hard work in spacing this font properly. A clone and many hours later, Etched was born. Later added borders and decorations when the sample called for it.-----Works best at 64pt.
