A clone and many hours later, Etched was born. Later added borders and decorations when the sample called for it.-----Works best at 64pt. Set leading to 48pt for a single dividing line in between, 52pt for a double dividing line, and 56pt for a clear break between lines. Started off quite different; this is how it ended-up. My conclusion: All fonts want to be blackletter....because%20it%27s%20not%20quite%20blackletter%2C%20is%20it%3F%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3BThis%20font%20went%20through%20a%20lot%20of%20%28interrupted%29%20modification.%20Started%20off%20quite%20different%3B%20this%20is%20how%20it%20ended-up.%20My%20conclusion%3A%20All%20fonts%20want%20to%20be%20blackletter.

The dots are such that the curved shapes and squared-off letters just would not resolve to an equal height no matter what I tried. Then after the mixed x-height that came about in yesterday's la Cross, it occurred to me to just let the letters be as tall as they wanted to be. It seems to work for some odd reason. And believe it or not, in the process of doing these three fonts, enough additional glyphs were created and deleted to fill at least two more variants.
