23 Downloads23%20Downloads2358 Glyphs58%20Glyphs58so here u have my castle family. two fonts - the original with crosses on the top of the towers and the other version with flags on top. i guess all fonts present problems to be solved during their creation to remain true to the theme or underlying rules (serif, sans serif, blackletter, etc.) of each font. the problem with these fonts was if the idea is to represent a castle-like structure within each font, then characters C, E, F, P, S, T, Y, Z would not be realistic within supplying some type of support for the towers that appear on the "unsupported" end of the letter structure. my solution was to add parts of the castle that would appear to be part of the tower supporting the normally free part of the letter, but breaking it up within the character so that it doesn't become part of the main character structure of the castle. oh well, it was fun, but i suppose this truly is a display font and then probably best to use the characters separately for the most part. some characters are probably to much like others - C and G - because of my solution, but it was fun and i was really surprised when the font downloaded very quickly. i couldn't believe it. i thought all those bricks would cause certain doom, but no. so if you like, enjoy :)so%20here%20u%20have%20my%20castle%20family.%20two%20fonts%20-%20the%20original%20with%20crosses%20on%20the%20top%20of%20the%20towers%20and%20the%20other%20version%20with%20flags%20on%20top.%20i%20guess%20all%20fonts%20present%20problems%20to%20be%20solved%20during%20their%20creation%20to%20remain%20true%20to%20the%20theme%20or%20underlying%20rules%20%28serif%2C%20sans%20serif%2C%20blackletter%2C%20etc.%29%20of%20each%20font.%20the%20problem%20with%20these%20fonts%20was%20if%20the%20idea%20is%20to%20represent%20a%20castle-like%20structure%20within%20each%20font%2C%20then%20characters%20C%2C%20E%2C%20F%2C%20P%2C%20S%2C%20T%2C%20Y%2C%20Z%20would%20not%20be%20realistic%20within%20supplying%20some%20type%20of%20support%20for%20the%20towers%20that%20appear%20on%20the%20%22unsupported%22%20end%20of%20the%20letter%20structure.%20my%20solution%20was%20to%20add%20parts%20of%20the%20castle%20that%20would%20appear%20to%20be%20part%20of%20the%20tower%20supporting%20the%20normally%20free%20part%20of%20the%20letter%2C%20but%20breaking%20it%20up%20within%20the%20character%20so%20that%20it%20doesn%27t%20become%20part%20of%20the%20main%20character%20structure%20of%20the%20castle.%20oh%20well%2C%20it%20was%20fun%2C%20but%20i%20suppose%20this%20truly%20is%20a%20display%20font%20and%20then%20probably%20best%20to%20use%20the%20characters%20separately%20for%20the%20most%20part.%20some%20characters%20are%20probably%20to%20much%20like%20others%20-%20C%20and%20G%20-%20because%20of%20my%20solution%2C%20but%20it%20was%20fun%20and%20i%20was%20really%20surprised%20when%20the%20font%20downloaded%20very%20quickly.%20i%20couldn%27t%20believe%20it.%20i%20thought%20all%20those%20bricks%20would%20cause%20certain%20doom%2C%20but%20no.%20so%20if%20you%20like%2C%20enjoy%20%3A%29

7 Downloads7%20Downloads71 Comments1%20Comments139 Glyphs39%20Glyphs39Sir Walter Raleigh or Ralegh (c. 1552 – 29 October 1618), was a famed English writer, poet, soldier, courtier and explorer.

Raleigh was born to a Protestant family in Devon, the son of Walter Raleigh and Catherine Champernowne. Little is known for certain of his early life, though he spent some time in Ireland, in Killua Castle, Clonmellon, County Westmeath, taking part in the suppression of rebellions and participating in two infamous massacres at Rathlin Island and Smerwick, later becoming a landlord of lands confiscated from the Irish. He rose rapidly in Queen Elizabeth I's favour, being knighted in 1585, and was involved in the early English colonisation of the New World in Virginia under a royal patent. In 1591, he secretly married Elizabeth Throckmorton, one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting, without requesting the Queen's permission, for which he and his wife were sent to the Tower of London. After his release, they retired to his estate at Sherborne, Dorset.

In 1594, Raleigh heard of a "City of Gold" in South America and sailed to find it, publishing an exaggerated account of his experiences in a book that contributed to the legend of El Dorado. After Queen Elizabeth died in 1603, Raleigh was again imprisoned in the Tower, this time for allegedly being involved in the Main Plot against King James I who was not favourably disposed toward him. In 1616, however, he was released in order to conduct a second expedition in search of El Dorado. This was unsuccessful and the Spanish outpost at San Thomé was ransacked by men under his command. After his return to England he was arrested and after a show trial held mainly to appease the Spanish after Raleigh's attack of San Thomé, he was beheaded at Whitehall.
