130 Downloads130%20Downloads1307 Comments7%20Comments7161 Glyphs161%20Glyphs161The Chesterfield Royal Family was formed from my desire to add new weights to the original Chesterfield typeface. In the process of drawing these new weights, I began modifying some of the forms of the new glyphs away from the original Chesterfield glyphs in order to build a more flexible brick/grid structure for the development of various weights. The most noticeable difference between these three new faces and the original is the lowered x-height. That said, there are still some compromises between the different weights and because of that I've given them these royalty names instead of the normal practice of light, regular, and bold weight names. One of the biggest compromises occurs in the Prince weight, where I was unable to add the notch where bowls and shoulders meet stems (see King and Queen weights) without adding too much extra black weight to those parts of the glyph.

A work in progress for sure. Any help/thoughts/repulsions/bile appreciated.

Most of them are very pixely looking (all characters were at the start, thus Riged (I know its not spelt that way)). I then started to add curves and circles to basic latin and I am going to continue until the font is a good font that everyone can enjoy. If you have any tips that would make this font better then please tell me as I am sure I have made a few mistakes.

6 Downloads6%20Downloads619 Glyphs19%20Glyphs19This is a numbering system based on a 5 by 5 grid system. Numbers are formed by subtracting the corresponding number of squares from a box with solid sides, that represents the number 0, starting from the topmost right hand corner in a clockwise direction for the numbers 1 to 4. For numbers 5 to 8, dots are created starting from the topmost bar in a clockwise manner. For the number 9, a solid dot appears in the middle where the alternating process continues and creates a perfectly symmetrical symbol for the last digit in the numbering system. Operation signs are formed based on current signs; all signs closely resemble the actual signs due to the nature of the assembly system.This%20is%20a%20numbering%20system%20based%20on%20a%205%20by%205%20grid%20system.%20Numbers%20are%20formed%20by%20subtracting%20the%20corresponding%20number%20of%20squares%20from%20a%20box%20with%20solid%20sides%2C%20that%20represents%20the%20number%200%2C%20starting%20from%20the%20topmost%20right%20hand%20corner%20in%20a%20clockwise%20direction%20for%20the%20numbers%201%20to%204.%20For%20numbers%205%20to%208%2C%20dots%20are%20created%20starting%20from%20the%20topmost%20bar%20in%20a%20clockwise%20manner.%20For%20the%20number%209%2C%20a%20solid%20dot%20appears%20in%20the%20middle%20where%20the%20alternating%20process%20continues%20and%20creates%20a%20perfectly%20symmetrical%20symbol%20for%20the%20last%20digit%20in%20the%20numbering%20system.%20Operation%20signs%20are%20formed%20based%20on%20current%20signs%3B%20all%20signs%20closely%20resemble%20the%20actual%20signs%20due%20to%20the%20nature%20of%20the%20assembly%20system.

Some fonts you just can’t FontStruct. Try a non-modular typeface from FontShop.com
