Although I changed only a couple of details it has a very different feeling. Take a look at the example! I´m not sure about the numbers, probably a few of them have need to be reworked. 7 Downloads7%20Downloads798 Glyphs98%20Glyphs98This is my first font created here.
I tried to build the font only with straight lines and no curves. Small letters are only 6px X 6px and large letters are 8px X 10px. Diagonals play a very important role in the construction of each letter. Also diagonals are more thick than the horizontal and vertical lines if you notice. So I named it Diagonal Knife. I tried to keep the font as simple as possible using minimum number of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. Tried to keep the corners of the letters little blunt instead of very sharp.
Suggestion, Criticism, Appreciation are welcome. If you like the font or have any advice or request please do comment.

I then picked out the central line of each horizontal, vertical and diagonal strip, which left me with a very simple, disjointed, linear set of glyphs. Finally I extended each line to get a 3D effect. I think the result has quite a retro futuristic feel (if you know what I mean). Definitely a display typeface. 8 Downloads8%20Downloads8204 Glyphs204%20Glyphs204Bring back some dot matrix-y goodness to your printed documents with DMP-200 RS!

Based on the output of the Radio Shack DMP-200 printer, DMP-200 RS is a sans-serif fixed-width Dot Matrix Printer typeface from the early 1980s. The DMP-200 was used with the TRS-80 Color Computer and other fine Tandy computers.

I originally made this an 8×8 font, but upon closer inspection of the finished products under a magnifying lense, it was discovered that the pin-strikes on the horizontal were much, much closer together than the vertical; thus, it was changed to a 16×16 for a better replication. Plus, that allowed me to place dots '1/2-way' between the 'main' gridlines...

Most non-alphanumeric and More Latin characters have been created to match the original style.

Enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback!Bring%20back%20some%20dot%20matrix-y%20goodness%20to%20your%20printed%20documents%20with%20DMP-200%20RS%21%0D%0A%0D%0ABased%20on%20the%20output%20of%20the%20Radio%20Shack%20DMP-200%20printer%2C%20DMP-200%20RS%20is%20a%20sans-serif%20fixed-width%20Dot%20Matrix%20Printer%20typeface%20from%20the%20early%201980s.%20%20The%20DMP-200%20was%20used%20with%20the%20TRS-80%20Color%20Computer%20and%20other%20fine%20Tandy%20computers.%0D%0A%0D%0AI%20originally%20made%20this%20an%208%C3%978%20font%2C%20but%20upon%20closer%20inspection%20of%20the%20finished%20products%20under%20a%20magnifying%20lense%2C%20it%20was%20discovered%20that%20the%20pin-strikes%20on%20the%20horizontal%20were%20much%2C%20much%20closer%20together%20than%20the%20vertical%3B%20thus%2C%20it%20was%20changed%20to%20a%2016%C3%9716%20for%20a%20better%20replication.%20%20Plus%2C%20that%20allowed%20me%20to%20place%20dots%20%271%2F2-way%27%20between%20the%20%27main%27%20gridlines...%0D%0A%0D%0AMost%20non-alphanumeric%20and%20More%20Latin%20characters%20have%20been%20created%20to%20match%20the%20original%20style.%0D%0A%0D%0AEnjoy%2C%20and%20I%20look%20forward%20to%20your%20feedback%21

46 Downloads46%20Downloads462 Comments2%20Comments291 Glyphs91%20Glyphs91The original Morse code was created for Samuel F.B. Morse's electric telegraph in the early 1840s, but spread to radio communications (and beyond) beginning in the 1890s. (It is now known as American Morse code, and rarely used.) International Morse code was created by Friedrich Clemens Gerke in 1848, and standardized at the International Telegraphy congress (Paris) in 1865.

Other current Morse Code FontStructions have encountered word- and letter-spacing issues, and I tried to work around this by stacking the dots and dashes vertically. The result reminds me a bit of Mayan numerals, but hey, as long as it still reads as Morse... I wonder what the ITU would say about this? One thing's for sure... it saves a lot of horizontal space.

In each character, the dots and dashes read from top to bottom rather than from left to right. Punctuation has the longest series of dots and dashes in International Morse Code (six), so this number determined my cap height. :-) The shorter characters all hang from this imaginary line.

Missing characters: Please note that the !, & and $ symbols are not defined within the ITU recommendations for International Morse code, so they are not part of this typeface. On the other hand, the @ symbol was approved for use in 2004, so I've also included the underscore sign I found at two different online sources. (The underscore symbol has not been formally approved by the ITU, but it could come in handy if you have to transmit an e-mail address using Morse code!)

Other characters: As with my two Braille FontStructions, the uppercase and lowercase versions of each character are the same. Also, the opening and closing parentheses share the same symbol, which will also show up if you type brackets instead of parentheses. Last but not least, there are a very few diacritics included (the ones I was able to verify).The%20original%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FMorse_code%22%3E%3Cstrong%3EMorse%20code%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3C%2Fa%3E%20was%20created%20for%20Samuel%20F.B.%20Morse%27s%20electric%20telegraph%20in%20the%20early%201840s%2C%20but%20spread%20to%20radio%20communications%20%28and%20beyond%29%20beginning%20in%20the%201890s.%20%28It%20is%20now%20known%20as%20American%20Morse%20code%2C%20and%20rarely%20used.%29%20%3Cstrong%3EInternational%20Morse%20code%3C%2Fstrong%3E%20was%20created%20by%20Friedrich%20Clemens%20Gerke%20in%201848%2C%20and%20standardized%20at%20the%20International%20Telegraphy%20congress%20%28Paris%29%20in%201865.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%0D%0A%0D%0AOther%20current%20Morse%20Code%20FontStructions%20have%20encountered%20word-%20and%20letter-spacing%20issues%2C%20and%20I%20tried%20to%20work%20around%20this%20by%20stacking%20the%20dots%20and%20dashes%20vertically.%20The%20result%20reminds%20me%20a%20bit%20of%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FMaya_numerals%22%3EMayan%20numerals%3C%2Fa%3E%2C%20but%20hey%2C%20as%20long%20as%20it%20still%20reads%20as%20Morse...%20I%20wonder%20what%20the%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FInternational_Telecommunication_Union%22%3EITU%3C%2Fa%3E%20would%20say%20about%20this%3F%20One%20thing%27s%20for%20sure...%20it%20saves%20a%20lot%20of%20horizontal%20space.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%0D%0A%0D%0AIn%20each%20character%2C%20the%20dots%20and%20dashes%20read%20from%20top%20to%20bottom%20rather%20than%20from%20left%20to%20right.%20Punctuation%20has%20the%20longest%20series%20of%20dots%20and%20dashes%20in%20International%20Morse%20Code%20%28six%29%2C%20so%20this%20number%20determined%20my%20cap%20height.%20%3A-%29%20The%20shorter%20%20characters%20all%20hang%20from%20this%20imaginary%20line.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%0D%0A%0D%0A%3Cstrong%3EMissing%20characters%3A%3C%2Fstrong%3E%20Please%20note%20that%20the%20%3Cstrong%3E%21%3C%2Fstrong%3E%2C%20%3Cstrong%3E%26%3C%2Fstrong%3E%20and%20%3Cstrong%3E%24%3C%2Fstrong%3E%20symbols%20are%20not%20defined%20within%20the%20ITU%20recommendations%20for%20International%20Morse%20code%2C%20so%20they%20are%20not%20part%20of%20this%20typeface.%20On%20the%20other%20hand%2C%20the%20%3Cstrong%3E%40%3C%2Fstrong%3E%20symbol%20was%20approved%20for%20use%20in%202004%2C%20so%20I%27ve%20also%20included%20the%20underscore%20sign%20I%20found%20at%20two%20different%20online%20sources.%20%28The%20underscore%20symbol%20has%20not%20been%20formally%20approved%20by%20the%20ITU%2C%20but%20it%20could%20come%20in%20handy%20if%20you%20have%20to%20transmit%20an%20e-mail%20address%20using%20Morse%20code%21%29%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%0D%0A%0D%0A%3Cstrong%3EOther%20characters%3A%3C%2Fstrong%3E%20As%20with%20my%20two%20Braille%20FontStructions%2C%20the%20uppercase%20and%20lowercase%20versions%20of%20each%20character%20are%20the%20same.%20Also%2C%20the%20opening%20and%20closing%20parentheses%20share%20the%20same%20symbol%2C%20which%20will%20also%20show%20up%20if%20you%20type%20brackets%20instead%20of%20parentheses.%20Last%20but%20not%20least%2C%20there%20are%20a%20very%20few%20diacritics%20included%20%28the%20ones%20I%20was%20able%20to%20verify%29.

About UPC:
UPC has the following formatting:
ZnnnnnnYNNNNNNZ; where:

Z - start/end guard bar
Y - midlle guard bar
n - digit from the first 6 numbers the code
N - digit from the last 6 numbers of the code

How to use:
You'll have to convert your 12 digit code into 15 strings:

first you type the start guard bar: Z
first 6 numbers of your code, written as usual: 0 ... 9
the middle guard bar:Y
last 6 numbers of your code, using uppercase symbols: ), !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (
the end guard bar: Z

Example:
Barcode: 256015 495837
Type in: Z256015Y$(%*#&Z

Please Note:

the horizontal lines above and below the vertical bars are there only to ensure proper spacing between bars. You might want to remove that, although it won't interfere with barscanners.
there should be no space between the characters, fontsruct generates them this way. You'll have to compensate.(corrected thanks to thalamic)

Update (03. Apr '09):
With Kerning support added to fontstruct, no more horizontal bars are needed. I shall update the tutorial illustration as well.Font%20representing%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FUniversal_Product_Code%22%3EUPC%20%28Universal%20Product%20Code%29%3C%2Fa%3E%20Barcode.%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Ch3%3EAbout%20UPC%3A%3C%2Fh3%3E%0D%0AUPC%20has%20the%20following%20formatting%3A%0D%0AZnnnnnnYNNNNNNZ%3B%20where%3A%0D%0A%3Cul%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3EZ%20-%20start%2Fend%20guard%20bar%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3EY%20-%20midlle%20guard%20bar%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3En%20-%20digit%20from%20the%20first%206%20numbers%20the%20code%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3EN%20-%20digit%20from%20the%20last%206%20numbers%20of%20the%20code%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3C%2Ful%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Ch3%3EHow%20to%20use%3A%3C%2Fh3%3E%0D%0AYou%27ll%20have%20to%20convert%20your%2012%20digit%20code%20into%2015%20strings%3A%0D%0A%3Col%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20decimal%3B%22%3Efirst%20you%20type%20the%20start%20guard%20bar%3A%20%3Cem%3EZ%3C%2Fem%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20decimal%3B%22%3Efirst%206%20numbers%20of%20your%20code%2C%20written%20as%20usual%3A%20%3Cem%3E0%3C%2Fem%3E%20...%20%3Cem%3E9%3C%2Fem%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20decimal%3B%22%3Ethe%20middle%20guard%20bar%3A%3Cem%3EY%3C%2Fem%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20decimal%3B%22%3Elast%206%20numbers%20of%20your%20code%2C%20using%20uppercase%20symbols%3A%20%3Cem%3E%29%2C%20%21%2C%20%40%2C%20%23%2C%20%24%2C%20%25%2C%20%5E%2C%20%26%2C%20%2A%2C%20%28%3C%2Fem%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20decimal%3B%22%3Ethe%20end%20guard%20bar%3A%20%3Cem%3EZ%3C%2Fem%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3C%2Fol%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Ch3%3EExample%3A%3C%2Fh3%3E%0D%0ABarcode%3A%20256015%20495837%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0AType%20in%3A%20Z256015Y%24%28%25%2A%23%26Z%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Ch3%3EPlease%20Note%3A%3C%2Fh3%3E%0D%0A%3Cul%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3E%3Cdel%3Ethe%20horizontal%20lines%20above%20and%20below%20the%20vertical%20bars%20are%20there%20only%20to%20ensure%20proper%20spacing%20between%20bars.%20You%20might%20want%20to%20remove%20that%2C%20although%20it%20won%27t%20interfere%20with%20barscanners.%3C%2Fdel%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3Cli%20style%3D%22list-style-type%3A%20disc%3B%22%3E%3Cspan%20%20style%3D%22text-decoration%3A%20line-through%3B%22%3Ethere%20should%20be%20no%20space%20between%20the%20characters%2C%20fontsruct%20generates%20them%20this%20way.%20You%27ll%20have%20to%20compensate.%3C%2Fspan%3E%28corrected%20thanks%20to%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Fgallery%2F1%2Fall%2F0%2F0%2F%2522thalamic%2522%22%3Ethalamic%3C%2Fa%3E%29%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%3C%2Fli%3E%0D%0A%3C%2Ful%3E%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cstrong%3EUpdate%20%2803.%20Apr%20%2709%29%3A%3C%2Fstrong%3E%0D%0A%3Cp%3EWith%20Kerning%20support%20added%20to%20fontstruct%2C%20no%20more%20horizontal%20bars%20are%20needed.%20I%20shall%20update%20the%20tutorial%20illustration%20as%20well.%3C%2Fp%3E
