The typeface draws inspiration from the long tradition of German Fraktur styled blackletters. The name Hunstrück is taken from a mountain range in Germany called the Hunsrück. Primarily I was aiming to build a face that would work well as a display type for gig posters and larger headlines but as I reworked the typeface I tried to strike a balance between text and display. Big thanks goes to djnippa for his hard work in spacing this font properly. Especially the design of the caps was hard; sooo many possibilities! However, i'm proud to present you my first real blackletter font :) I would like to add some more glyphs to the "more latin" set, but the size seems to be close to the download limit. Small letters are only 6px X 6px and large letters are 8px X 10px. Diagonals play a very important role in the construction of each letter. Also diagonals are more thick than the horizontal and vertical lines if you notice. So I named it Diagonal Knife. I tried to keep the font as simple as possible using minimum number of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. Tried to keep the corners of the letters little blunt instead of very sharp.
