It has some Art-Nouveau influences, featuring contrasting bowl sizes, and sharp diagonal lines juxtaposed against flowing curves. When I began working on it in FontStruct however, I wasn't able to render its sinuous lines as I had first imagined. It evolved, becoming squared and angular, taking on a more Gothic feel; although, this suits its name. Following my ‘ornate’ theme I also wanted to keep each letter very attractive making each letter look like an ornament but also if used a full body text still holds this ornamental theme.The%20typeface%20was%20created%20with%20influence%20from%20fonts%20used%20on%20circus%20posters%2C%20I%20wanted%20it%20to%20come%20across%20as%20quite%20flamboyant%20with%20a%20sleek%2C%20more%20modern%20undertone%20which%20I%20think%20I%20have%20achieved%20with%20the%20thin%20vertical%20lines.%20Following%20my%20%E2%80%98ornate%E2%80%99%20theme%20I%20also%20wanted%20to%20keep%20each%20letter%20very%20attractive%20making%20each%20letter%20look%20like%20an%20ornament%20but%20also%20if%20used%20a%20full%20body%20text%20still%20holds%20this%20ornamental%20theme.

10 Comments10%20Comments1027 Glyphs27%20Glyphs27I began by exploring the theme of decaying objects, such as fruit, and studied the shape (and change of shape) of the objects, as they progressivly fell apart. By creating hand drawn sketches i began to create a typeface that looked as though it was rotting/melting away. I used a traditional typeface, Times New Roman, that could be considered as quite boring and a font which has been around for a long time and then used it as a base font which i then made to look as though it was rotting and falling apart by refering back to my earlier sketches. I had another version with slanted A V W, & X, but it looked more cohesive with everything all blocky. Especially the design of the caps was hard; sooo many possibilities! However, i'm proud to present you my first real blackletter font :) I would like to add some more glyphs to the "more latin" set, but the size seems to be close to the download limit.
