A%20tribute%20to%20Josef%20Albers%3A%20inadvertently%20inspired%20by%20saberrider%20and%20afrojet.%20%0D%0A%0D%0AThis%20font%20totally%20happened%20by%20accident.%20Recently%2C%20saberrider%20created%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Ffontstructions%2Fshow%2F185027%22%3Esteep%2C%3C%2Fa%3E%20which%20uses%20a%202.0%20x%201.11%20filter%20setting%20to%20smoothly%20blend%20the%20quarter-circle%20bricks%20into%20the%20triangles.%20After%20saberrider%20created%20his%20experimental%20variable%20scale%20fontstruction%2C%20it%20lead%20me%20to%20revisit%20an%20abandoned%20work%20I%20did%20from%20last%20year%20that%20was%20done%20in%20a%20similar%20scale.%20After%20getting%20over%20the%20initial%20disgust%20of%20looking%20at%20the%20dismal%20failure%2C%20I%20started%20tweaking.%20Then%20I%20decided%20to%20tweak%20the%20letters%20instead.%20It%20became%20apparent%20that%20I%20could%20create%20a%20stencil%20type%20font%20that%20also%20looked%20like%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.p22.com%2Fproducts%2Falbers.html%22%3EJosef%20Alber%27s%20font.%3C%2Fa%3E%20Coincidentally%2C%20Saberrider%20also%20has%20a%20variation%20with%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Ffontstructions%2Fshow%2F90140%22%3Efontstract%2C%3C%2Fa%3E%0D%0Aand%20of%20course%2C%20that%20Stewf%20guy%20has%20his%20own%20family%20of%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Fgallery%2F2%2Fall%2Fhighest_rated%2F0%2Fleaflet%22%3ELeaflets.%3C%2Fa%3E%20%3B-%29%20Afrojet%27s%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Ffontstructions%2Fshow%2F178441%22%3Esessions%3C%2Fa%3E%20came%20into%20play%20in%20creating%20some%20of%20the%20letter%20forms%2C%20especially%20the%20numerals.%20The%20final%20filter%20setting%20became%201.638%20x%201.08%2C%20which%20created%20a%20nice%20fusion%20of%20the%20curved%20and%20triangular%20bricks%2C%20but%20was%20also%20naturally%20inclined%20to%20necessitate%20the%20vertical%20divide%20on%20each%20glyph.%20The%20rest%20flowed%20rather%20easily%20from%20there.%20Here%27s%20to%20more%20happy%20accidents.%20%3D%29%0D%0A%0D%0AThe%20sample%20is%20also%20a%20tribute%20to%20Alber%27s%20color%20theory%2C%20showing%20the%20names%20in%20identical%20colors%2C%20which%2C%20when%20juxtaposed%20over%20contrasting%20colors%20tricks%20the%20eye%20into%20thinking%20the%20bottom%20name%20is%20darker%20than%20the%20top.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe%20following%20Josef%20Albers%20quote%20can%20relate%20to%20all%20things%20creative%2C%20like%20fontstructing%2C%20not%20just%20color%3A%20%0D%0A%3Ci%3E%0D%0A%22It%20should%20be%20clear%20by%20now%20that%20our%20way%20of%20studying%20color%20does%20not%20start%20with%20the%20past%20-%20neither%20with%20works%20of%20the%20past%20nor%20with%20its%20theories.%0D%0A%0D%0AAs%20we%20begin%20principally%20with%20the%20material%2C%20color%20itself%2C%20and%20its%20action%20and%20interaction%20as%20registered%20in%20our%20minds%2C%20we%20practice%20first%20and%20mainly%20a%20study%20of%20ourselves.%0D%0A%0D%0AThus%2C%20we%20replace%20looking%20backward%20by%20looking%20first%20at%20ourselves%20and%20our%20surroundings%2C%20and%20replace%20retrospection%20with%20introspection.%22%0D%0A%3C%2Fi%3E%0D%0A-%20Josef%20Albers%0D%0A

Roughly based on my NCD Black Square fontstruct, but massively scaled up to accommodate the internal lines. I found that the small caps version works nicely when used in odd combinations with the lower case. Particularly the upper 'R'. Most difficult characters were the F/f. I wasn't too keen on the open space they made, so I've added more than a few alternatives. The 'r', 'J' & 'L' gave me a similar visual dilemma. I have also completed a version with Normal Caps. Which will be displayed soon.
