Identified as "No. 1229" in their Lettres Fantaises of 1896, it sports a very fine side shadow, which I've attempted to re-create here. (I found the "No. 1229" sample on Hoefler & Frere-Jones' blog - fifth image from the top.)

This FontStruction is split in two to make downloading possible. The Basic Set (this half) features all of the Basic Latin and More Latin characters, while the Extended Set has all of the Extended Latin A and several Extended Latin B characters (Latin-based diacritics for the Central European, West European, Baltic, and Romanian languages, plus special characters for Croatian, Slovenian, and Livonian, among others).I%27ve%20added%20a%20side%20shadow%20to%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Ffontstructions%2Fshow%2F80235%22%3EPrometheus%3C%2Fa%3E.%20The%20inspiration%20was%20a%20typeface%20from%20the%20French%20type%20foundry%20Peignot.%20Identified%20as%20%22No.%201229%22%20in%20their%20%3Cem%3ELettres%20Fantaises%3C%2Fem%3E%20of%201896%2C%20it%20sports%20a%20very%20fine%20side%20shadow%2C%20which%20I%27ve%20attempted%20to%20re-create%20here.%20%28I%20found%20the%20%22No.%201229%22%20sample%20on%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.typography.com%2Fask%2FshowBlog.php%3FblogID%3D34%22%3EHoefler%20%26%20Frere-Jones%27%20blog%3C%2Fa%3E%20-%20fifth%20image%20from%20the%20top.%29%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%0D%0A%0D%0AThis%20FontStruction%20is%20split%20in%20two%20to%20make%20downloading%20possible.%20The%20Basic%20Set%20%28this%20half%29%20features%20all%20of%20the%20Basic%20Latin%20and%20More%20Latin%20characters%2C%20while%20the%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Ffontstruct.fontshop.com%2Ffontstructions%2Fshow%2F104169%22%3EExtended%20Set%3C%2Fa%3E%20has%20all%20of%20the%20Extended%20Latin%20A%20and%20several%20Extended%20Latin%20B%20characters%20%28Latin-based%20diacritics%20for%20the%20Central%20European%2C%20West%20European%2C%20Baltic%2C%20and%20Romanian%20languages%2C%20plus%20special%20characters%20for%20Croatian%2C%20Slovenian%2C%20and%20Livonian%2C%20among%20others%29.

this was like a "flash"!
i started another new font, just NOT to forget the idea i had, which i use to do always, when i got lack of free time.
usually i create 3-5 glyphs to remind myself of the style, etc...
but this here took about, let's say 15 min of working time. it just flowed as if some"thing" leads my right hand :)

...more glyphs to come, when i got less other work to do. if i think about the fun this was, it won't take long.

I'm sure you can think of something. There are a few circles floating around on spare characters in case you need them. Be warned, it has more squares per glyph than I've ever seen in a fontstruction, so there could be downloading troubles. 49 Downloads49%20Downloads495 Comments5%20Comments552 Glyphs52%20Glyphs52The Slurpee Font - Created and fueled by an unhealthy summer obsession with the world's greatest beverage you can drink/eat with a straw. A little interweb research gave some hints at a few more glyphs than the initial six glyphs in the 'Slurpee' logo. In some cases, like with the 'c' glyph, I noticed that it had been drawn differently in different usage. See here and here.

Being that the current Slurpee logo is Unicase, I decided to try and make uppercase and lowercase alternatives that can be mixed and matched for the unicase feel.

See also Chank Diesel's wonderful font Cosmic, which draws from the old school Slurpee branding.

P.S. The Monster Black Ice flavor that came out this summer was ridiculously awesome.%3Cb%3EThe%20Slurpee%20Font%3C%2Fb%3E%20-%20Created%20and%20fueled%20by%20an%20unhealthy%20summer%20obsession%20with%20the%20world%27s%20greatest%20beverage%20you%20can%20drink%2Feat%20with%20a%20straw.%20%20A%20little%20interweb%20research%20gave%20some%20hints%20at%20a%20few%20more%20glyphs%20than%20the%20initial%20six%20glyphs%20in%20the%20%20%27Slurpee%27%20logo.%20In%20some%20cases%2C%20like%20with%20the%20%27c%27%20glyph%2C%20I%20noticed%20that%20it%20had%20been%20drawn%20differently%20in%20different%20usage.%20See%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flickr.com%2Fphotos%2Fgregory%2F185192672%2F%22%3Ehere%3C%2Fa%3E%20and%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.portmoodysoccer.com%2FSlurpee%2520Cup%2520Tournament%25202007%2520Logo.jpg%22%3Ehere%3C%2Fa%3E.%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0ABeing%20that%20the%20current%20Slurpee%20logo%20is%20Unicase%2C%20I%20decided%20to%20try%20and%20make%20uppercase%20and%20lowercase%20alternatives%20that%20can%20be%20mixed%20and%20matched%20for%20the%20unicase%20feel.%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0ASee%20also%20Chank%20Diesel%27s%20wonderful%20font%20%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.myfonts.com%2Ffonts%2Fchank%2Fcosmic%2F%22%3ECosmic%3C%2Fa%3E%2C%20which%20draws%20from%20the%20old%20school%20Slurpee%20branding.%0D%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0AP.S.%20The%20Monster%20Black%20Ice%20flavor%20that%20came%20out%20this%20summer%20was%20ridiculously%20awesome.

75 Downloads75%20Downloads757 Comments7%20Comments798 Glyphs98%20Glyphs98The Chesterfield Royal Family was formed from my desire to add new weights to the original Chesterfield typeface. In the process of drawing these new weights, I began modifying some of the forms of the new glyphs away from the original Chesterfield glyphs in order to build a more flexible brick/grid structure for the development of various weights. The most noticeable difference between these three new faces and the original is the lowered x-height. That said, there are still some compromises between the different weights and because of that I've given them these royalty names instead of the normal practice of light, regular, and bold weight names. One of the biggest compromises occurs in the Prince weight, where I was unable to add the notch where bowls and shoulders meet stems (see King and Queen weights) without adding too much extra black weight to those parts of the glyph.

A work in progress for sure. Any help/thoughts/repulsions/bile appreciated.

This is just one more attempt at that.    2. Trying to ignore my own typographic conventions so that the result is somewhat different, fresh(er) than previous attempts.There%20are%20a%20couple%20of%20things%20I%27m%20trying%20to%20do%20here.%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B1.%20I%27ve%20been%20trying%20to%20create%20a%20bottom-heavy%20font%20for%20a%20while%20now.%20This%20is%20just%20one%20more%20attempt%20at%20that.%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B2.%20Trying%20to%20ignore%20my%20own%20typographic%20conventions%20so%20that%20the%20result%20is%20somewhat%20different%2C%20fresh%28er%29%20than%20previous%20attempts.
